Diamond Companies is the holding company for Diamond International, Diamond Idealease and Diamond State Bus Company. Diamond Companies is a privately owned and operated corporation which provides total transportation solutions to truck customers who wish to balance quality products, services and price.
Diamond Companies consists of 16 locations across 4 states with over six hundred employees in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas. Mr. Richard (Dick) Sweebe is the President/CEO and sole stockholder.
History
Dick Sweebe began working for International Harvester in 1972 and served in several capacities before purchasing his first dealership, Mid-America International Trucks in Memphis, TN in 1982. This timeline briefly describes our growth over the past 27 years.- 1982: Acquired dealership in Memphis, TN
- 1995: Acquired dealership in Little Rock and Pine Bluff, AR
- 1996: Acquired dealership in Russellville, AR
- 1998: Acquired dealership in West Plains, MO
- 1999: Created Diamond Companies as the holding company
- 1999: Acquired dealerships in Kansas City and Springfield, MO and Topeka, KS
- 2004: Acquired dealership in St. Joseph and Joplin, MO and Lowell, AR
- 2006: Acquired bus location in Conway, AR
Until January 2008, the dealership locations operated as three distinct entities: Mid-America International Trucks, KCR International Trucks, and Diamond International Trucks. In 2008, Diamond Companies underwent a re-branding initiative in which all dealerships came under the same unified name, Diamond International.
There are 6 idealease locations that operate under the name Diamond Idealease.
The bus franchise in Conway, AR has remained the same, Diamond State Bus Company. They are the sole IC franchise in the state of Arkansas and have exclusive rights to the Eldorado bus line in Arkansas and Tennessee.
The Business
Our dealerships run much like a typical automotive dealership. We offer a full line of International Brand trucks (medium, heavy and severe service) along with a large inventory of used trucks and financing available through Navistar Financial Corporation. Our dealerships consist of more than 150 service bays as well as 4 Body Shop locations with certified technicians available to meet your needs. We are one of the largest International parts dealers in the country with more than $8 million in inventory. Our Idealease locations offer full-service lease options, contract maintenance and rental vehicles. Finally, Diamond State Bus offer a full line of school, commercial and passenger buses to meet your transportation needs.
